Manage Live CDsManage Mobile Nodes | TOC | User preferences 1. Notes about the Live CDA Live CD is a special CD containing a whole Operating System which is executed at boot time without the need to be physically installed onto a hard drive. It doesn’t alter the original OS and is thus convenient for testing or demonstrating purposes. The Home Agent operators have the possibility to provide a Live CD to the users that contains many software related to IPv6 and Mobility and facilitates the use of the mobility service. You may not have access to the Live CD page (normally accessed from the left menu) depending whether your Home Agent operators chose to provide the Live CD support or not. You may want to have a look at the Live CD handbook too. 2. Generate a Live CDWhen you have created Mobile Nodes (read the relevant section) you are now able to generate a Live CD for each of your Mobile Nodes from the Live CD page which is access by a link from the left menu. It takes 15 minutes to generate a Live CD once you have clicked on the Generate link, and you will have to reload the page after this time to see your Live CD appear. The Live CD will be available for download during one week, after what it is erased from the server (in order to save hard disk space) and you will have to generate it again. 3. Update/Destroy Live CDYou may want to update your Live CD if you have made changes to the corresponding Mobile Node's configuration. You can do that by clicking the Update link for the specified Live CD. Please note that this process is the same as generating a Live CD. You can also delete the Live CDs that you don't have a use for anymore. Please note that this action doesn't actually prevent you to use the downloaded and burnt Live CDs: it will only delete the file to save hard disk space on the server that provides Live CD for download. You may want to destroy the Mobile Node instead. |
